e-Fans.com - The Sports Networking site
Posted on April 23, 2008
Love sports? Then eFans.com is the right the place for you! Efans.com is yet another social networking site, but this time there is actually a main focus- sports that is. This is the home to the biggest sports fans, those who can’t wait for their daily ESPN SportsCenter fix. Efans.com has 24/7 sports updates from all over the world. The best part is you can create a profile and join networks of all your favorite teams. It’s a really cool way to discuss the big game, or anything else going on with your team. You can find fans from all over, maybe even that random Yankee fan out in Colorado.
There are other cool features to this site. You can upload and share pictures and videos of your favorite teams or players. You can blog sharing all your opinions and trash talk, if blogging is your thing. If not, you can just enjoy reading others’ ideas. There is also the option to create a Dream Team, and we all know how much fun that is! Even if you don’t have much time, they have a pretty indepth recent news section that you can browse through for the latest updates.
Ever been out of the area for your team’s big game? Well, efans.com even has eFansTV in the works! You can choose any game you want and watch it live right on your computer.
Founder and creator, Stephan Maric, came up with the idea for eFans.com while studying UCLA. With the help of developer Branislav Gjorcevski, founder of Cutting Edge Intelligence, Maric believes that eFans.com will someday become a recognized brand in the sports industry.
All the hype about eFans.com may help the site take off, but like every other web 2.0 venture, this one is very likely to hit a rough period, where getting new visitors will become a challange. However, if they manage to maintain the hype and traffic during key months like superbowl, world series etc., then they might be able to survive and remain profitable. (Especially when you consider the cost of bandwidth for all those streaming videos, things could get tricky!) Introducing new features like superbowl commercials and analysis may help additional traffic during key periods. The exit strategy certainly cannot be an IPO, but more of a merger with other social networking sites in the niche. It is worth checking out eFans.com - sports lovers only!
